This master class teaches basic modeling and mold making techniques using a combination of clay and plaster. During this four week course you will learn how to create a tile model using a design of your choice and then produce production molds that can be used to make custom tiles at the TileWorks.
ABOUT TIM CARDER
Timothy Carder studied industrial design at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent, which is the heart of the pottery industry. During his time there, he learned the art of sculpting in base relief and various types of mold making techniques using plaster of Paris. Then, in 1980, he joined Lenox China where he designed and modeled many decorative pieces of China giftware. In addition to working on Lenox's everyday products, he had the unique opportunity to work with First Lady, Mrs. Hillary Clinton, to develop a china dinnerware service to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the White House. Tim moved to New Hope in 1981 where he resides with his wife to this day.

Cancellation Policy
If you register for one of our classes or workshops and are unable to attend for any reason, there are no refunds or credits available unless we are able to fill your spot with someone on the waitlist. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel. If we are able to fill your spot there is a $10.00 fee to cover our time and our processing fees. You are welcome to send someone in your place if you cannot make it, just let us know prior to the class so we can update our rosters. Please note a minimum of 4 people is required for most classes to run. If you have enrolled in a class or workshop that does not meet the minimum requirement to run, you will be issued a full refund. If you have any questions about our cancellation policy, we are happy to answer them prior to signing up to clarify.
